MODELING: AGE 6 TO 13

Here is the age group where all the work is done, but for very little glory. Here are a few things you want to focus on:

• Get comfortable being photographed, work on it hard. The more comfortable you are with being photographed the better.
• Any kind of training that will improve your grace and style is good. Ballet, gymnastics and sports in general are good examples.
• Now is also the time to learn good skin care and general hygiene. Lots of time will be spent in the future on grooming.
• Push hard for anything that will get you on a stage or in front of people, school plays, etc.

The next thing is to audition for anything you can. Local playhouses have walk-on parts. If necessary, help out with the scenery or whatever you can. Let people know you plan to model.
